A timetable conflict arose before I started studying for my A levels many years ago, meaning that I was unable to take my dream combination of French, German and Geography. Instead I started Geology from scratch. Little did I know back then that I would have the chance to get up close and personal with glaciers in Iceland and, more recently, in Switzerland. In Iceland it was with the help of specially modified 4x4 vehicles; in Switzerland it was on foot roped together in a group. I’ve always been fascinated by these constantly evolving ice monsters. Here are some of my favourite photos.
